Scout Trace Driving Directions

FROM BLAIRSVILLE GEORGIA (approx 20 minutes from the Blairsville to Scout Trace)
Go West on Hwy 76  for 7½ miles to Nottely Dam Road (Hwy 325) - turn right (north), you will see a big Shell Gas Station at this corner. After this right turn, you are heading north on Hwy 325, go about 2.4 miles and the road dead-ends, turn left and follow this road about 3.75 miles to Cozy Cove Marina-Store -Estate. You will see Boy Scout Road on your left, turn left and follow this road about 2.5 miles to Lance Mountain Road. Scout Trace just at this junction.
When leaving, you can turn right (east) on Lance Mountain Road and get back to Hwy 325 just north of Cozy Cove. Boy Scout Road also loops back to Hwy 325 just a bit north. If you prefer, you can follow Hwy 325 North across the dam and it will hit Hwy 129 (Murphy, NC-Blairsville) at a stop light community called Ivy Log. A right turn heading south will soon get you back to Blairsville.

FROM ATLANTA GEORGIA
Take the I-575 North freeway off of I-75 (approx 15 miles N of downtown Atlanta). While the freeway ceases about half-way up, the roadway is still a 4 lane limited access hwy and a pretty drive as well. You will go past Canton and on up thru Ellijay to Blue Ridge where the Hwy curves from north/south to an easterly direction paralleling the state line. Go thru Blue Ridge to about 5 miles past the Ingles Shopping Center to Loving Road - there is a small gas station and a stop light at this junction, and it is the 1st stop light after the light at the Hwy 60 crossroad. Turn left (north) on Loving Road for about 10 miles - it will dead-end at Hwy 325. Turn right (south) for 1/10th of a mile to Boy Scout Road, you can only turn right, follow Boy Scout Road to Lance Mountain Road, just past the road you will see the main subdivision entrance on he left - look for the iron railing.
On your return, you can take either Lance Mountain Rd east or Boy Scout Road in either direction- both will return you to Hwy 325 and a left turn on Hwy 325 takes you back to Loving Road. You may take Hwy 325 north for a few miles to Nottley Dam - scenic view.

You may want to try Hwy 400 up from Atlanta and getting off at the Dahlonega exit (where the 4 lane ends) and following Hwy 19 North you will connect with Hwy 129 at Turners’ Corner, turn left (north) and cross over Blood Mountain – a very scenic drive. Follow 129 right thru to Blairsville and take Hwy 76 W just past the Courthouse. See instructions above from Blairsville.
There are some interesting wineries near here, instead of getting off 400 at Dahlonega, stay straight North on 400 after it changes to a two-lane local road all the way 'till it dead-ends. Make a left for about 1 mile to Town Creek Church Road, turn right and follow it until it dead-ends at Damascus Church Road. There is a winery right there in front of you, or turn left a couple of miles to the Frogtown Winery. Passing the Frogtown Winery you will end up at Hwy 129, simply make a right and continue on to Turner's corner where the road dead-ends, take a left (north) on Hwy 129 up and over Blood Mountain to Blairsville.
 

From I-985, exit North just past Gainesville on Hwy 129. This will take you up thru Claremont and Cleveland.  At Cleveland, you can pass straight thru and continue on 129 over Blood Mountain (see above paragraph), or take a little side trip thru Helen (a rustic German flavored village) on Hwy 75. Just after you leave Helen, you will make a left on (Alt) Hwy 75 and go about 2 1/4 miles to make a right turn on Richard Russell Scenic Hwy –and it sure is. Where the scenic hwy ends, turn left and it’s just a mile to the Main Hwy 129/19. Make a right and head north to Blairsville - see above instructions from Blairsville.

FROM THE NORTH
Very few roads cross into N Ga, If you are coming down I-75, exit East on the Hwy 64 By-Pass. take this all the way east thru the Ocoee Gorge (really scenic) and follow 64 to Murphy, NC to Hwy 129 South. r huge flea markets at this stop-light intersection. Continue south past the state line to Ivy Log - well, it does have a stoplight and a couple of stores. You will turn Right (west) on Hwy 325 at the light. Follow 325 across the dam to Boy Scout Road (about 3.5 miles from Ivy Log). Log for Loving Road, the next right is Boy Scout Road,  follow Boy Scout Road about 1.5 miles to Lance Mountain Road, just past the road you will see the main subdivision entrance.
